Feminist Dalit Organization

Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) was established in 1994. It is one of the leading non-governmental organization working in Nepal for the empowerment of Dalit women in all the spheres. FEDO envisions a just and equitable society and believe that we can achieve it only through transformative social change.

Our aim is to uplift the lives of Dalit women by increasing the access of Dalit women to the basic needs- education, health and sanitation; providing them with sustainable economic opportunities, developing the leadership skills and building an agency.

Moreover, FEDO is also a movement-based organization, we have a nationwide network and members across seven Provinces. Currently, we have members in 56 districts out of 77 with more than two thousand groups and above fifty thousand members.

We are also successful in developing the leadership of more than eight hundred Dalit women who serve the community as frontline leaders who tirelessly work to fight against the discrimination and violence based on caste and gender. Furthermore, FEDO also has alliances with different governmental, non-governmental organizations; building and expanding networks to strongly lobby and advocate at grass-root, national and international levels for awareness and change.
