Solidaritas Perempuan
Solidaritas Perempuan (Women’s Solidarity for Human Rights) is a feminist organization established on December 10, 1990 with a vision to achieve a democratic and just economic, political, social and cultural order based on the principles of justice, ecological awareness, with respect to pluralism, through non-violence actions and equal relations between women and men.
SP’s work focuses on agrarian justice and food sovereignty, including conflict over natural resources; feminist climate justice; protection of women migrant workers and their families; pluralism, particularly responding to the worsening case of religious fundamentalism that targets women’s sexuality; and organizational empowerment. Since its establishment,
SP has continued to strengthen women’s grassroots leadership and political position by increasing and strengthening their capacity and awareness to collectively take action to fight for their rights; advocating system changes from state and non-state actors at the local and national levels; increasing the number of women leaders at the local level; building and strengthening networks with NGOs, mass media, and the public to support SP and the women’s struggle; and strengthening organizational capacity to advance women leadership at the grassroots level.
